Me too, I am 14 months out. I vomit after nearly every meal especially if
I have meat of any kind. I don't have the answer just wanted you to know
you are not alone.

What does your surgeon say about this. In my opinion you should have
already had an endoscopy to see what's going on. A few weeks, maybe a
month, but this far out I would do more investigating. Best to you. Karen

Have you guys been scoped, as the person below me asked? Not UGI, scope.
How does water taste? It is not normal to vomit that often. If it was
"stupidity", you'd have learned how to avoid it, so that's not
it. I'm assuming you still stick with small portions, chew 'em to death
and all that. Some can never do certain meats again, I think. I STILL (9.5
yrs) have trouble with white chicken. (don't like dark), so usually avoid
that. Please be scoped and see how big your stoma is. Should be around
10-12mm. Much less limits your food choices.

I vomited for almost 13 months no matter what I ate or drank. Two scopes
later, it was revealed that I had an enlarged pouch.. an atonic pouch...
meaning that the pouch had no muscle tone, so whatever was in my pouch just
sat there and when more was put in, it eventually had to go somewhere and
up it all came. I went into malnutrition and had to be fed intravenously
through a special intravenous line.. until I could have a third surgery to
revise me and correct the atonic pouch. I had the pouch reconstructed and
some other things .. like hernias, etc taken care of .. And I now only
vomit if I eat too fast, drink with my meals, dont chew well enough , or
eat one of those rare foods that shouldn/t eat.. Roast beef still doesnt
work for me, and neither does Chinese or Japanese foods. I can eat most
foods, although I did find out the hard way I have to avoid milk and
sugars.. As long as I avoid milk and sugars, chew well, dont drink with
meals, and etc.. I pretty much dont have any vomiting. Vomiting after
most meals is not a quality of life or normal.. get scoped and look into
fixing whatever is mechanically wrong.. If you have a mechanical failure,
it is NOT your fault. I hope that you soon feel better.

i was scoped at seven months out for an ulcer and my stoma was dilated at
that time. All was fine for awhile. I guess my answer was misleading.
Most dense foods cause me to vomit. Most meats I cannot eat. Cottage
cheese does not bother me.

Hi I am now a year post op and vomit sometimes still if I eat too fast, but
I vomited all of the time after each meal and was worried so I got an
endoscope done and found out that I had some acid reflux in my throat that
was causing me to throw up after each meal, the food wasn't going down
right so my surgeon put me on nexium and everything is fine as long as I
take it, unless of course I eat too fast, so you might want to get that
checked out! good Luck to you!
