Question:
Anyone try the new Subway low carb wraps yet?
I have seen the commercials for these and I am intrigued. However, before spending money on it and being disappointed and I wanted to know if anyone out there has tried them yet. How big are they? About how much do they cost? How did it taste? — Heather M. (posted on January 7, 2004)

I am 7 weeks out and I too was captured by the commercials so I was lured
into tring one. I got the chicken bacon wrap. It was very good but I was
only able to eat about 1 inch of it. Not sure how long they are but taking
a guess I would say about 5 inches maybe. The cost was $4.37 with tax.
Worth it, nah! Not at 7 weeks out. Maybe later on I will try again.

I'm one year post op. I tried the chicken and bacon wrap, ate 1/2 then the
other 1/2 two hours later. They're okay but expensive. I'm sure the fat
grams are pretty high with the dressing and cheese.

I have. I had the bacon chicken wrap, and had to eat it in thirds. I
thought it was tasty. I agree with the other poster, it was a little
expensive for how much (read: little) you get, and even though we don't
each much now, i'd still rather get more for the money, and save the other
portions for other meals. Unfortunately, the chances are slim that they'll
either a) make the portions bigger for the price, or b) lower the price.
<Giggle> A commercial just came on while I was watching, and they
said the price was a "special introductory" price ($3.49)! I
guess that means we'll have to pay even more for less! It's so silly the
way we consumers end up paying more for smaller amounts of food. The
restaurant industry in this country is so screwed up! I'm rambling...I'll
shut up now...(Open PROXIMAL RNY, 7/7/03; 226/162/132, 5'1")

I was put off by the fact they had 430 & 480 calories each and 27 &
25 fat grams, 9 of which are saturated. Seems like a lot of calories for
not much food.

Hello! I just tried one for lunch today. You can order any sub and they
will put it in a wrap for you. I didn't order one of the special ones, I
mainly wanted to try the actual wrap. I had the Southwestern steak and
cheese. I'm sure it wasn't the healthiest thing in the place, but it's only
a once in a while thing. Anyway, the wrap was good, not doughy, tasted like
a regular whole wheat tortilla-type thing. LOL. I believe it was $3.99,
they didn't offer an introductory price. I ate half and brought the other
half home for my mom to try. Good eating... Kim K

I thought they were good. I didn't mind the price either. To me it is no
different than going to a restaurant and ordering off the kids menu. I was
able to eat 1/2 and saved the other 1/2 for next meal. It bothers me when
people talk about "price", when I was consuming tons of food
before surgery, the "price" didn't bother me, now that I can only
eat 2-5 oz, I complain about the "price" I think that is silly. I
hope you try them. OPEN RNY 8/22/03 345/264/155
