Question:
Has anyone used GeniSoy Ultra XT soy protein?
I will see my doctor for my consult on July 21. I went to GNC to check products out. I find GeniSoy Ultra XT soy protein. It has Fat 0g, Total Carbs. 0g, Sugars 0g, Dietary Fiber 5g, and Protein 25g. How does this rate when it comes to Soy Protein? Thanks for your help? — Shirley H. (posted on June 28, 2003)

It sounds great and if you are doing any kind of presurgery weight loss,
try it out--HOWEVER--your tastes may change after surgery, and it seems to
be that postops profit more from WHEY protein over soy because the whey is
absorbed better by our altered digestive systems. Not to mention that many
liquid soy proteins are also very thick and "chalky". Thick
shakes are great prior to surgery...but after, the new pouch may have
problems with them, especially if you can't fit that mega-thick soy shake
in there several times a day. Personally? I love soy and it has so many
beneficial qualities I will always use it, but prefer to ingest it in other
foods such as soy cheese, soy "coffee", soy milk, or Gardenburger
products! I even use soy milk to mix up my whey protein powder (LOL!) Best
of luck to you....peace--terry
