Question:
How difficult is it to get approval for TT from Aetna?

I was denied at 12 months post-op, but I really had no medical
documentation for rashes. I felt I actually had a better case for a breast
lift/reduction, but was denied that as well. I did not appeal as I wanted
to wait and apply when I was further post-op. I am now one week shy of two
years and want to apply again. I meet the criteria for the pannus, but I
haven't had the rashes so I guess I can't get it for that. I may have
developed an incisional hernia that I am monitoring which may give me more
clout. I hope you have better luck! I read about some people kind of
fudging and giving themselves skin irritations with various talcs, etc. but
if this was ever proven that is insurance fraud, so...I hope you have
better luck! Molly

I just wanted to let you know that I was one of the lucky ones. My surgeon
sent pictures, medical notes, and a letter of medical necessity and Aetna
approved my TT and my arms. I was 10 months out when I had the surgery and
I had lost around 128 pounds (I think). Good Luck!
Sincerely,
Mary Beth
