Hi, Chrissy! I'm still pre-op so probably not the best person to answer this question. I've seen your postings on this, and can sense you're frustrated. Could you tell us a little more about how much more you would like to lose, and exactly what you're doing now as far as diet and exercise. Like how much water are you drinking? How much exercise are you getting, and is it mostly aerobic? Sit-ups won't make you lose weight, but do you ride the bike 5 or 6 days for at least 30-45 minutes, getting your heart rate up? It should be almost to the place where you cannot carry on a conversation comfortably. At that point you'll know your heart rate is in a good target area. Are you eating lots of protein, and keeping your carbs low and staying away from junk? I think if you could tell us a little more, some of the post-ops here would be able to offer you some great tips. That said, as a pre-op, my last most successful diet was the Atkins plan. If you haven't done it, check it out at atkinscenter.com. It may be helpful to you. As for the revision issue, I believe only your doctor can tell you if the "mechanics" of your surgery are still working. Best wishes to you.

the so called revision i had in feb was to transact the stomach but i guess that is all the dr. did and i havent lost any more weight but that 20 some lbs since. right now to be honest i have gave up because all i did after the first surgery was drink water and eat broth and sf jello and then clear liqueds and soft foods did everything right and got the sld then after the second surgery i did the same broth water chrystal lite no sugar even though i have no problems with it. i did ride my bike or walk at least a hour a day now im slaking off because i havent lost any weight since feb. no matter what i do so i give up im sorry if this sound selfish or pissy or in need of pitty im not meaning to but this is how i feel right now like i failed twice. i dont know if there is something medicallt wrong or not i go to the dr. on the 27th and he is 2 hours away so i cant just pick up and go when ever i want i have to wait tell then

I am also a pre-op, but my question is are you getting enough protein and water? If I were you, I'd try documenting everything you're eating/drinking for a few days to make sure your getting enough protein and not too many carbs. Good Luck

Chrissy: Thanks for the additional info. I wish I had more help to offer you. I can only say I understand your frustration - it's just like every diet I've ever been on. You're SO GOOD for a long time, and nothing is happening, and then you just feel like giving up. I can certainly understand that. I will pray that you will find the answers you are looking for. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I understand completely what you are going through. I went through the same thing and so I can offer you a couple of suggestions. First, are you a lightweight? You have lost a total of 70 lbs in eight months. That is great! Do you have a lot more to go or are you in the dreaded "last 30 lbs" situation? If you are close to goal, it is very normal for your weight loss to slow down. This is the time when we have to work at it. Don't be discouraged. I had transection the second time when I had SLD and went on to lose an additonal 50 lbs. Like you, it was mostly in the first few weeks after revision. We have been through 2 surgeries and we cannot give up now! Increase your protein and more importantly than anything, drink that water and exercise more. This is going to require some work. I am speaking to myself too so don't think I am lecturing you. I am working on that last 30 lbs too and it is very difficult to make the scale move. Still, inches keep coming off and that is what counts, right? If I can help in any way, just e mail me. I can only say that I have been there/done that/ and still working on it! God bless,
