Question:
How long does it take to hear from insurance company
How long does it usually take to hear something from your insurance company after all the paperwork has been submitted. I have United Healthcare Choice Plus for primary an Healthlink for my secondary. — bev S. (posted on April 14, 2003)

I'm not sure if it was just Aetna's rule or if it applies to all insurance
companies, but mine has to approve or deny you within 30 days. I heard
after 3 weeks. It really varies case to case, but usually only takes a few
weeks. Goodluck!!

Hello! I have United HealthCare PPO and I have a friend here at work who's
already had the surgery and has the same insurance. She said it took 7
weeks JUST for the pre-determination letter from the surgeon
to make it to UHC and than after that it was a matter of about two weeks. I
spoke to a very nice lady at UHC and she herself told me it takes about two
weeks to get reviewed for the surgery. Good luck and wish me luck as well.
So far it's been a case of hurry up and wait!!!
