Question:
I would like to know if I try and lose weight before suregry would that be okay.
In other words I want to be under 300. so this way i could be able to lose more weight fast and get to the 100s faster. is this possible do i sound ridculous. also what kind of questions do they ask u during psych evualation and what does the nutrionist usually discuss with u. any help would be appreciated. — robin A. Any weight you lost prior to surgey is to your advantage.

I agree in that any weight you lose prior to surgery will only help you
later. I am actually going through the same thing right now and trying to
lose weight beforehand.
And all surgeons are different so see what yours has to say about it. Some
surgeons require you to lose 10% of your weight prior to surgery, some just
say no weight gain, some tell you to try and lose as much as you can so it
is a good thing to do.

I lost 35 lbs. before my surgery and I'm glad. It will just be less you'll
have to lose later and it will make the recovering easier. I didn't see a
nutritionist beforehand, but the psych just asked me really general
questions. He wasn't a WLS-specific psychiatrist. It will depends on who
you go to. Do a search in the library on psych evaluation. There's a lot
of info there.
