Question:
Has anyone ever had

I am 4 months post-op and my pcp said I have "diverticulitis". I have a bad pain in my lower abdomen and swelling. This is an intestinal infection, anyone had this?    — Susan L. (posted on September 4, 2002)

I haven't had it personally but my husband ended up in the hospital with it last year. very painful he was in the hospital for 10 days on an iv and antibiotics. Then he was told not too eat any hard seeds like popcorn, nuts etc that would become lodged in the pockets of the colon. Also was told to get more fiber in his diet. Surgery was another option but he didn't have that done, it has been under control. I hope your pcp has you on antibiotics and your getting bed rest and lots of fluids.
