Crissy, I had the same questions and really wanted a plan, I had the VBG
and I know it is different but in the morning I cook 1 egg with salsa or
3-4 oz of oatmeal or creme of wheat. If I am in a hurry, I grab a protien
drink and drink it on the way to work. I also take my first bottle of water
to start getting it in , in about 30-45 minutes after I eat. I have started
cooking more, I broil some salmon, catfish or cod. Or bake a chicken, I
pack a lunch with 3 oz of one of these and maybe some spinish or mashed
potatoes or beans, about 1-2 oz. I cook for 2-3 meals so when I get home I
have some ready. I also make deviled eggs some times and eat one, it is a
whole meal for me. I try to drink another protien drink before I go to bed
and always the water. Hope this helps. the thing is you really have to
plan, have ff puddings, yogart and cottage cheese for variety and protien.
Many people that plateau, go back to clear liquids or add protien drinks to
kick start it again. the Proscore 100 has about 30 grams of protien in it,
the chocolate is good, I add 2 frozen strawberrys to the vanilla and it is
good.

Hi Chrissy, I work and I don't usually have time to eat before hand either.
I buy small cottage cheese w/ pineapple, keep it in the refrigerator at
work, and have that for breakfast. I also keep a few regular oatmeal
pouches on hand, and have that using a coffee cup, splenda, cinnamon, and
sugar free applesauce. I mix the hot water from our water cooler at work.
This is delicious! For lunch I pack a salad, with small pieces of cutup,
baked chicken (for protein). I use regular salad dressing. You might also
try buying the EAS low carb protein bars. They have low sugar, and about
24-26 g of protein each (depending on what flavor you get). It has to be
the low carb ones though, be careful of any that have high carbs. But
these work great for a meal on the run. Good luck. Post-op 6 months, down
71 lbs.

You have most likely stopped losing, because you are not eating enough
(never thought you would hear that). I know when I don't eat during the day
I'm more tempted to grab the carbs, because they go down so well. Your body
needs fuel all day in order to run. Right now your body is holding on to
what it has, because it is not getting new fuel and thinks you are
straving. Try the suggestions listed below and I believe you will start the
loss again. Cheryl LAP/RNY 05/30/02 65lbs lose

Hi Chrissy... I am 4.5 months post op and down 66# but have had a few
plateaus. You have to eat and have to make this a priority. I too have a
really busy morning and day so this is what is now working for me:
I use 2 scoops of ProScore100 Chocolate w/ 6 oz of 1% milk or 2, l/2 cup of
ice, sometimes a squirt of lite hersheys syrup or SF chocolate instand
pudding and put in a blender. I mix this up and put in a 16 oz cup and put
in my cupholder and drink on way to work. Mid day I have fruit or 2 or 3
cheese/pb crackers; Lunch is usually leftover meat from night before plus
some tomato and fruit or a l/2 sandwich and fruit; mid afternoon I might
have about a cup of popcorn or crackers and cheese; dinner is meat, a
"good" carb, veg and if I'm hungry mid evening some fruit. I
sometimes also do another protein when I get home from work but just one
scoop to tide me over while making dinner so I don't get the munchies. On
the weekends I spend some time cooking some things or preparing things for
the next week like egg salad, tuna, chicken salad, chicken, etc. But
without a doubt the protein supplement which is yummy by the way really has
helped. At work: I keep a jar of PB, some crackers, instant oatmeal, sf
hot chocolate, pb & crackers, splenda, peppermint tea (helps cravings
& the occasional nausea we sometimes get)and a couple of protein bars:
I love Premier nutritions Protein Eight bars (chocolate coconut)and the
Atkins bars are very good. I use them only when really busy and can't take
time for lunch. I drink about 80 oz of water a day and occasionally
Crystal Lite. Hope this helps you. I've now jump started my loss and feel
super. My best to you. You're gonna be fine!

You don't have time because you are not making time to properly prepare
your food for the day. You can make something up the night before and heat
in the microwave the next morning and eat in the car..thats what I do.
Every stop light, another bite. Carry protein bars around in your purse
and eat those-there should be no excuse to go to the vending machine at
work. And you are skipping lunch!! No wonder you are plateauing. Your
body needs to fed several times a day, whether you are hungry or not. Do
you have a refrigerator at work? If not get a small cooler and pack your
own stuff and bring with you....
