Question:
Has anyone ever gone on the food combining program post-op?
The program is where you eat fruits alone, you don't eat protein with starches, you wait a certain amount of hours before eating something else (depending on what you ate). If so, how did it work for you? I understand eating this way will make you healthier and have energy (which is what I need most). The last two diets my mother went on were the food combining thing. She
seemed to do very well with it (she is MO and has not has WLS) and get a
lot of energy from it. Like most diets, it worked until she stopped
following it. She has tried to convince me to do this instead of WLS, but
I mostly have a problem with the no starches and protein together. No
carrots on your salad (because of their high sugar content), never a
sandwich, no pasta. It just seems to limit what you can eat to the point I
doubt I could last long. It is definitely a way to limit carbs since most
of your meals end up protein though. Good luck!
