Everyone is different and dumps on different amounts. Some people who had
the same type surgery I did (open RNY proximal) cannot tolerate even the
smallest amount of sugar. Some can tolerate large amounts. I can tolerate
about 17 grams. It also depends on what else is in what I'm eating. I have
found that Dannon Light has about 16 grams of sugar per serving- I eat half
the container sprinked with Grape Nuts and have no problem. Another friend
of mine (open RNY distal)can eat Yoplait- with lots more sugar. Go figure!
Good luck.

Not only is everyone different, but this also changes with time. I started
out with a 4-6 gram tolerance and that has increased to a 20-25 gram
tolerance. I never did eat too much yogurt because it is so high in sugar.
I use some in smoothies with fruit cuz I don't have trouble with fruit
sugars. Unfortunately, you will have to find your own tolerance level by
trial and error.

I agree that dumping "changes with time." When I was early
post-op, I would dump on a half slice of bread. Nowadays, I can have half
a candy bar and be fine. Of course I'm a year post-op now, so I'm able to
eat most anything without too much of a problem. I kinda wish I dumped
like in the beginning, since I'm sure it would help me with these last
coupla pounds!

EVeryone is different. You WANT a low level of dumping. My tolerance went
up over the years & it really scared me. I went cold turkey on any
sugars for 2 weeks and re-set my dump-o-meter. I had built it up, up, up
for awhile and then let it come back down under 10g. If I want to hold my
weight intact, I NEED to dump. I'm not all THAT strong in will power.
