Question:
is it more to my advantage to keep my requesting WLS a secret?
or should i seek the advice from friends and love one no matter what the out come, positive or negitive? — suzan R. (posted on March 4, 2002)

I wasn't going to tell a sole, but I ended-up telling just about everyone
and I must say that positive people far out weigh the negeative ones. Plus
telling people I has helped me become more educated about WLS. People will
ask me questions and if I don't know or if it's something that I've never
thought about, it makes me seek out the answer. Yes, it's no fun hearing
the bad comments, but some good does come from them - they make me wisor
and stronger

Just remember once you tell someone, you can't un-tell them. You can always
keep it a secret and then selectively tell people later. Just something to
consider.

I told everybody. I'm glad that I did. I got a lot of support from friends
and co workers. When I got back to work I found that people were surprised
and happy to see all the weight mthat Ihad lost. There was one person who I
had not told. She saw me and was very concerned. She was also very nervous
about asking what had happened to me and why I was in the hospital (did I
have a terminal illness?).
Good Luck
