Question:
How can you have minimum loose skin post op?

My arms, stomach and upper legs are BIG. I want to do everything I can to avoid folds of loose skin post op since I probably won't be able to get a tummy tuck anytime soon. Any recommendations (such as exercise) that work? Thank you all for discussing your surgery so openly. Almost all my questions have been answered.    — Anne D. (posted on February 26, 2002)

It depends on your age, skin type and genetics mainly. The younger you are the better your skins resilience and ability to bounce back. If you have stretchmarks, your skin has maxed out it's 'give' and will never be really back it's former self. You can exercise to tone, which is my plan, because the underlying muscle and attachments will pull in and as the fat deposits lessen the skin will retract to some degree. The degree again is an individual thing. Moisturizing can't hurt either, in my opinion. Good luck and don't give up, you never know how much toning you can do until you try.<p>
