Hi...I started at 313 4 months ago, and am now down 80lbs and 69 inches. I
still have about 80 more to go, and at this time, I think I will need a TT,
but you never know. It depends on how you are shaped, your age, how long
you've been obese, etc. The doctors say that you should wait at least a
year after the weightloss has stopped before considering corrective
surgery, so that you give the skin a change to "go back" if it's
going to. Good luck!

My start weight was 313 on July 23rd 2001 and I am 44 years old. I have
lost to near goal, 110 pounds and now weigh 203! This fast loss caused all
sorts of sags but my skin is shrinking back great, no plastic surgery for
me thank goodness! Let tomorrows problems wait till then. It may well go
away! I fretted a LOT about what turned out to be a non issue!

I weighed 316 when I had my surgery 2 1/2 months ago. I have lost 50 lbs to
date. I don't know if I will need a tummy tuck or not at this point. I have
been walking every day and hopefully will not need a tummy tuck.

I started at 333, am 5'5 3/4" and am 7 1/2 months post-op and am down
approximately 95#'s....I say approximately because I have not weighed
myself since December 31. Good luck....Just remember, you can not compare
yourself to how others are loosing...as you can see, I am a tad slower than
the other posts....but I am extremely happy with what I have lost so far!!

I am age 51, 5'6" and starting weight was 321 lbs. Now, I am 6 1/2
months post-op and weigh 198 lbs. I needed a TT prior to THIS weight loss
& still need one today... :-)

I am 24 years old and 6 months post-op, I started out in your weight range.
So far I have lost 80 pounds and I am really happy with that loss. Please
remember that everyone drops weight at a different weight. It also depends
on what surgery you had. I had a proximal because my insurance company
wouldnt allow the distal, even though that is what the doctor wanted to do!
I tend to lose weight a little slower then other people. I will need a TT
along with other surgeries to tighten up a few areas.

6 1/2 mos post. Started 324, today 224.5 (-99.5). I go to the gym 4-6
days a week and still have a stomach but not excess skin, if that makes
sense. I am flabby in the thighs and upper arms. Good luck and God bless!

Hi! I am 37 years old, 5' 6" and weighed 350 lbs at surgery on
December 13th, 2001. At my two week post op date, I had lost 54 lbs. This
is NOT typical, okay? I haven't weighed in again yet, but I know the weight
loss has slowed, and I have probably lost another 15-20 lbs in the past
three weeks. Like the other posters said, everyoone is different... just
get your protien, drink your water and walk, walk, walk!!! My skin, so far,
seems to be shrinking insteadof sagging... that may change! I hope not,
but...!

Tomorrow will be seven-months post-op, and I have lost 121 lbs!!

Hi. I started out 341 lbs. and had open RNY May 2, 2001. I am down about
118 lbs. at this point. As far as needing a tummy tuck, I think a lot has
to do with where you carry the weight. I met several people at a support
group who weighed about what I weighed prior to surgery, but their weight
was more evenly distributed. Mine was all in my abdomen. So I will more
than likely need a tummy tuck, but that doesn't mean everyone at this
weight will. Good luck!

My top weight was 310 and at 16 weeks post-op, I am down 90 lbs and
70.5". I don't think I will make 100 pounds in 4 months, but I will be
really close! My goal weight is 170 pounds down, 140. I will definitely be
having a tummy tuck when I am down to between 160 and 180 pounds, hopefully
in March. If not March, I have to wait until late April. Everyone's
different, though, and I think a lot will depend on your body type and
where you carry the weight. Feel free to look at my photo page.

Wow! I'm curious how it is possible to loose 54 pounds in 2 weeks like the
previous poster did.

I'm 5'7". At consultation I weighed 310. The day of surgery I
weighed 302. I went up to 317 (arg!)in the hospital due to the iv pumping
me full of fluid. 6 months later I weigh 224, and still losing. I'm not
looking to tummy tuck until much later as I still want to have children.
