Question:
I understand that weight loss stops at about 18 months ... can we still continue to
lose weight even after that? I'm 9 mos. post op and I'm afraid it will stop and that's scarey. — Betty Todd (posted on October 6, 2001)

Your "easy weight loss" window is 12-18 months. After that
period is over, you will have to work just as hard at losing weight as you
did pre-WLS. You CAN, however, continue to lose weight. The reason most
people stop losing weight after the 18 month window is simply because they
can eat more.
