Question:
Does anyone know of an experienced laparoscopic doctor in Dallas,TX.

I am considering to have a lap RNY, but all these doctors in the Dallas area have a long waiting period to be seen, like Dr. Jones, Dr. Provost, Dr. McCarthy. You can also look up Dr Barzune,but honestly just by my own research,if you are just starting to look for a Dr,regardless of how well known they are,you are looking at a sugery date no earlier then Jan/Feb 02,that's assuming that your insurance doesn't slow down the process,even longer. You may want to check the "find a doc" section,and go outside of Dallas,that might shorten the waiting list. I personally started my search in Feb.01,and I finally have a surgery date of Dec.10. I went to 3 different wls seminars and even checked out BTC in wylie. I decided on Dr's Kuhn/McCarty,their wait list is long,even just to get into the seminar,which you have to attend before going any further w/them,but I was told that their program is one of the best in the Dallas/metroplex area,and I must say after meeting w/them I would agree. They are worth the wait. I would advise that instead of picking a surgeon by the length of their waiting list,you should pick one by the amount of skill they have/on how their current patients feel about the program/and how many lap procedures they have done/and their statistics on their surgeries. This is a major surgery,and not every Dr will perform this "lap" and that alone should indicate that picking the most "qualified" surgeon is the most important thing,not the length of their waiting list. It's much better to maybe wait 2-3 months for a Dr who has a proven track record,then to go w/someone who may not have a wait list at all,but may not have that much experience. Remember patience is a virtue!!!!! Best of luck in your search.

I used a Doc at Medical City Dr.Henry Horrilleno I really do like him...I attended his seminar on 30 June and had my surgery on 11 Sept..only 2 1/2 months...Good Luck
