If you mean the Coffee Cool-atta things from Dunkin Donuts, I had one when
they first came out and they were extremely sugary...very sweet, like
they'd used some kind of syrups in it. At the time I loved it, but I would
imagine that you'd have some serious dumping with all the sugar. I think I
will stay OUT of Dunkin Donuts after my surgery! Yvonne

I post op friend and I recently went shopping and stopped for coffee. She
decided to get the Coolata. When she got home, she went to
DunkinDonuts.com and looked up the nutritional information. I believe that
she said there we 56g of sugar... a bit too rich for my blood. I may be
wrong about the exact content, but I remember it was obsene. (I tried to
look it up for you but the website wasn't responding, sorry)

Skim milk is lower in fat but not in sugar. How about going to Starbucks
for an Iced Latte and you can add a scoop of Problend 55 Mocha Cappucino to
it? It is pretty good.

The Coolata's are made with syrup. They are very high in sugar and
calories. I get iced coffee with two equals instead.

Coolatas...NO WAY.... I have a really awsome alternative....General Food
International make a Suisse Mocha sugar free coffee. I make it according
to directions only 25 cals and 0 sugar. Let it cool. Put it in the
blender with ice maybe a little additional skim milk and blend away. If
its not sweet enough either add another packet of equal or add a little
more coffee mixture. It is really wonderful and refreshing. Hot is a real
good chocolate craving saver! Hope you like it. PS let me know if you try
it....My e-mail is [email protected]
Good Luck

51 grams of sugar, just to put that in perspective, a regular Coke has
about 40 grams of sugar.

I thought I would really miss Starbucks Mocha Frappaccino. Then one day I
threw in some instant coffee (decaf) into my protein shake. My eyes rolled
in my head. It was awesome!!

there are some good ideas here for alternatives. I too have one.
I make decaf espresso and puree it in the blender with ice and milk. Add
splenda or equal (depending on what I have on hand) and then serve topped
with about a tablespoon of coolwhip free. Not quite the same but it gets me
through those cravings for the old coffee drinks. Then again I drink my
fluids in decaf coffee forms. Easier than water for me and I adore iced
coffee!

I know quite a few people who mix their protein drinks with coffee. It
kills the aftertaste. I don't drink coffee but I like the Mocha Cappucino
Problend 55 mixed w/water.

I heard someone mention Starbucks??? I am a pre-op but diabetic. I get
their venti decaf latte with sf vanilla flavoring (only sf they have)and I
add a packet of sweet-n-low, and I add a scoop of chocolate protein powder
so I can get my protein in since I have a hard time eating meat. My
baritric nutritionist suggested I start getting in 100grams of protein in a
day now that way I'm used to it once I have the surgery. SOON I HOPE!!!
