Question:
Will IBS become worse after the surgery?

I struggled with Irritable Bowel Syndrome for approximately 15 years before my RNY. I am pleased to say...no, hysterically overjoyed would be more accurate....that my IBS "disappeared" as of the day of surgery. That was 16 months and 140 lbs. ago. My surgeon said that the vast majority of his patients with a history of IBS reported either complete resolution or significant improvement of the condition following RNY. Good luck!
