Question:
Has anyone with bipolar disorder had the weight loss surgery??

I have been bipolar since 1988 and I would like to undergo the Fobi poch procedure by Dr Husted in Nashville, Tn. I would appreciate any answers by others in a similar situation as mine.    — Lynne1958 (posted on July 26, 2001)

I do not have bi-polar depression, but I have been reading this group for a long time. One bit of comfort: I have never heard of anyone's BPD getting WORSE! Besides, any infirmity is easier when we are physically healthier. I guess it's best not to think of WLS as solving lots of other problems. However, if our joints don't ache, if we can breathe and move around easier, it's bound to help us.
