horizontal gastroplasty, i believe, is a stomach stapling. that is left to
right instead of up and down the way they do it now. they don't do it that
way anymore. i had it done in 1984, and it has not been long term
successful. i understand they had about 75-80% failure rate. i still eat
small meals, but i have slowly continued to gain. from what i understand it
is because nothing else is done (ie, intestines).
