Is any portion of the surgery tax deductible if you self pay?

Yes if the surgery is medically necessary. The amount you pay out of pocket
that is over 7.5% of your annual income. At least that is the amount i was
able to deduct from last yrs surgery. Did not amount to much but anything
helps when it comes to income tax.

preparer or the IRS. However, out of pocket medical is deductible if you
itemize and if it exceeds a certain dollar amount.
