Question:
What protein drinks do you suggest?
I am trying to increase my protein intake, so I have decided to try protein drinks. What drinks do you know taste good. Also what can I do about my constant constipation. I know if I increase my protein that can become worst. Anybody have any answers? — L. N. (posted on April 25, 2000)

Hi L.N., I use 100% whey protein from GNC. It has 22g of protein per
serving and tastes pretty good in vanilla. Also, for constipation, I use
Citrucel. It is natural fiber and better for you. I mix 1 teaspoon in 2-4
oz of warm water and it is easier to take. Hope this helps!

My favorite (and I have tried a few) protein drink is Pure Protein (not to
be
confused with Pure Pro). It is in the cooler at GNC, costs
around $2.69, has 35 gr protein, little fat, no sugar, and 4 carbs.
It comes in 4 flavors, and is ready to drink. Shake, pour, hmmm! Good
luck!

I am 7 weeks post-op and have just discovered Designer Protein. I use the
natural flavor. It has almost no flavor at all and so can be mixed with
anything you like the taste of - drinks, yogurt, hot cereal, soups, etc.
Each scoop has 18.5 grams of protein, and one scoop mixes easily with only
4 ounces of yogurt or soup and gives NO aftertaste. I turned to this
because, regardless of the number of folks who told me protein shakes of
various kinds tasted great, I ALWAYS hated them. Everyone has different
tastes, but I wanted to point out this supplement as an alternative to the
ones with flavor. Good luck.
