What is the average time to be off work after an open RNY

I was off 5 weeks at full pay, I could have had 6, but as my job was all office/computers-and I was restless by then, Dr released me to go back. I could have had 6 weeks at full pay. Take whatever amount you are able to and your dr agrees, you will need it. It's alot to heal--baby yourself. Bek

I don't know if 6 weeks is normal or not ... I only took 3 and was okay to return to an office job by then. I was tired at the end of the day for the 1st. week back but no problems. I would say no more than 4 would be necessary, but I suppose it's an individual thing. Good luck!

I was off for 4 weeks but could have been back after 2! My advise is, if you can, take a month and let your body and mind recover. Get into healthy eating and drinking patterns before going back to work.

I was given 6 weeks and due to insane boredom, I went back after 4. Physically I probably could have gone back after two, but I was very tired in the afternoons. Good luck~~ Rebecca
