I would like to know if WLS is medicsally necessary why do you still deny it?

If by "you" you mean insurance companies...there are lots of
reasons. If the policy carries an exclusion, they will deny it because its
NOT a covered benefit. Employers when selecting policies often exclude WLS
from the package because of the cost. When it is a covered benefit, you
have to make sure you have the supporting documentation submitted to cover
the procedure. Of course this doesn't mean that they will say ok right
away.

Well, there are people who are not ready for WLS even if it is medically
necessary. If there is a determination that the patient will "eat
through" the surgery and thereby destroying the results of the
surgery, this is not a good canidate for the surgery. There are some out
there who think that the surgery is a miracle pill and that they can
continue as they were before the surgery not realizing that it is a tool
only and the real work comes in changing mindsets and eating habits.
