Question:
Can we drink Decaf Coffee?
Since my surgery (14 months post-op) I drink 3 cups (20 oz) cups of decaf a day (always cold). I just read the question on tea and this made me think about coffee. Is decaf coffee ok? I put sugar free chocolate soy milk w/ one package of sweet & Low or Spendra in my coffee. This gives me some protein and water. Thanks for any input you can give me! — Linda R. The dietician at my surgeon's office said to have 8 oz of water for each 8
oz of caffinated coffee that I drink. Do I always do that, no but I try to
do it.

I drink LOTS of coffee, most of it decaf. I just love it and would rather
drink coffee than eat. I try to be careful but I'd hate to give up my
coffee. My doctor said it was okay in moderation.

I drink a large travel mug of regular coffee every day. I never had any
problems.

Any decaf is fine as far as my Dr said. I drink a ton of decaf coffee and
tea, and right now am addicted to Dunkin Donuts Iced decaf lattes, of
course without flavoring, and with sweet and low and skim milk. I am 18
months out.

I have and continue to drink regular coffee. I have never had any problems
and don't know of any other WLS persons that have had a problem with
drinking regular coffee since surgery. I don't use sugar and haven't in a
long time (b4 WLS) just Splenda now.

Thanks for the input! I was just wondering. I still drink about 4 cups of
water a day plus my coffee. I feel I'm getting my milk (Protein)and I add
WaldenFarms Chocolate Sauce with Spendra and it's like drinking a Coffee
Moca! Thanks again!

I am a coffee addict as well and I drink a lot of Diet Pepsi. I haven't
had any problems with either. I drink black coffee, but I do remember to
drink A LOT of water as well. All our bodies are different, if it makes
you ill, don't do it, but if you are not having any problems, go for it. :)
Hope that helps you out!
Hugs,
Tracy
