Our nutrition class that is required by my surgeon has a formula for
figuring out the min. needs. You take your desired body weight and divide
by 2.2 to get your min. needs.
Example: 150 lbs / 2.2 = 68 grams
hope this helps

All programs are different. You will hear people saying their required
protein is anywhere between 60 and 85 grams as an average response. I've
also seen some who said 40 grams. So, the answer is, whatever your doctor
says is required it what is right. Good luck to you.

Most studies indicate that putting your body into ketosis is the most
effective way to lose weight. To accomplish this, you will probably need
at least 60 grams of protein a day and will also need to minimize the
carbohydrates. Some studies have revealed that when patients can increase
their protein intake beyond 60 grams/daily, without increasing their
carbohydrate intake, they will typically experience an increased weight
loss.

The USRDA for protein according to the gov't tables is a minimum of 60
grams/day for women. That's normies, and is only to maintain muscle and
heart. I believe we need extra for malabsorption, fat burning, healing,
and muscle building. Info on the last 3 available on BodyRx.com.

My doc's minimum for medial-distal patients is 120 grams/day of whey
protein supplements. We don't count what we eat, just what we *drink*.
Since we don't digest food, much less absorb it, food is fairly useless.
Check out VitaLady.com for great shakes . . . get your protein the easy
way.
