Question:
For the past two weeks or so, my nipples have been very sore and tender
I thought it might be pregancy, because that's the only other time they've been sore. But I've taken 3 tests in the last couple weeks and all three of them came up negative. Which for me, right now, is good. Would the hormones being released from the fat that I'm losing cause this? Any other ideas? Thanks. — Michelle J. (posted on February 11, 2004)

This happens every time I am premenstrual.

Usually a week or so before my period my breasts hurt and nipples very
sensitive. I was thinking the same thing you are but my tubes are tied so
was very relieved to finally start.

Oh my goodness. I thought I was the only person going through this pain.
I'm 7 1/2 months out and since surgery my nipples hurt so bad it brings
tears to my eyes. It only happens when I'm cold. The pain is unbareable. I
don't think I'm pregnant, and have never been. But, I'm going to see my PCP
about this. Hope things get better for you and me.

It's very likely that it's hormonal. You need to get your hormone levels
checked. Your gyn or even pcp can do it. hugs, Ann RNY 9/10/99 260/124
