Question:
Yippee for those who went down clothing sizes fast... when will I start??

It's going on 4 months post op for me, and while I notice major difference in the way my pre-op pants fit, I'm still able to wear them. They're gettin' super baggy. I started out at a 32 and I think I'm at a 28/30 now. So I'm down only one size. My shirts from 4x to almost 2x.. but my butt isn't getting any smaller. Let me hear from large bottom girls, and how long it took to get from say size 28-34... to get to 18-20 slacks? I'm not gonna compare, I'm just curious about others experience. — Michelle J. I started out on a size 26. Now I am 12/14 depending on how they are made. Before I quit I will be size 12 in everything but I must admit I still have a wide butt. I think if I weighed 95 I would still have a wide butt. It is just the way I am made. I did seem to lose more weight in the top first but I did balance out over time. I wish you the best of luck. Sounds like you are doing a great job just keep up the good work..(walking seems to slim my hips better than anything)

I started out a 28 and it took me 6 months to get into 18 oants. I was in 14 shirts before 18 pants. Also, I work out religiously with a personal trainer, so I am smaller than I weigh. I think it just dpeends on exercise.

I didn't really start noticing a big difference in clothing sizes until about 2 months out. My clothes were just really baggy up to that point but then all of a sudden ... WOW! I am now 8 months post-op and 7 pounds from goal. I went from size 22/24 to 7/8 during that time. The difference is pretty dramatic and you'll start seeing it soon. I think those of us with less to lose notice it faster but hey, if your clothes are already baggy, you'll be dropping sizes pretty quick too. HAVE FUN and just wait till you get to go buy new clothes - it's a blast! Hugs, Jody :) RNY 5/23/03 235/132/125

Michelle...I am 19* m os po and I started out in a size 32 pants before surgery and a 3x i blouses/shirts. I am now in a size 16 pants, but can probably fit into size 14 too. I now wear a size large in blouses/shirts, and I am still losing sizes. I am enjoying the sales and don't have buy clothes out of the plus size deptartmentsa anymore. That is an awesome feeling. I started out weight wise at 322 lbs, weigh 176 and my personal goal is 140 lbs. It has been an enjoyablew ride to get to this point. I wish you the best of luck in your continuous weight loss. Blessed BE, Deb

Michelle for some of us once a big butt always a big butt LOL - I had a big but at size 10 and I doubt when I return I will be without my butt - it has to do with bone structure and genes - along with muscles - I was a runner prior to my obesity - you don't indicate genes or body type - Also dancers seem to be well developed in the calves, thighs and buttocks. I always had to buy a size larger to accommodate my truck - but you know we big butts usually don't break our hips that easy - so I guess there are some pros as well as cons. Mostly it's us girls who don't like our own butts - what a stinkee mess we are in eh?

Before surgery I was in a 26/28 slacks. I tended to wear my clothes loose and stretchy. I think as I first lost weight, I didn't even think to check out smaller sizes...my slacks were loose...which was what I wanted! I first noticed the size change in my underpants! The crotch sort of "slipped"...it was hanging down, nearly to my knees!
I went out and bought a package of smaller panties (I wore size 12, bought new size 10's). They were a bit large, also, so I began to try on some of my old clothes...you know what I mean...I think we all have a wardrobe of several sizes. A lot of my old "small" clothes were already too large! I just didn't notice because I was comfortable in my loose-fitting clothing.
I guess my point is, try on a few things in smaller sizes. You may be pleasantly surprised!

I started out at 390lbs in a TIGHT 30/32 and now, nearly eight months post-op, I'm at 240lbs and comfortably in a size 20... it'll happen for you... I didn't change sizes for a LONG time, then it seemed like OVERNIGHT I changed sizes so quickly I couldn't keep up!! :-)
