Question:
Any one have to do weeks of Opti-Fast prior to surgery?

My surgeon requires this to help with surgery (shrinking size of liver) and help with recovery. I'm dreading this more than anything.    — Susan P. (posted on November 7, 2003)

HI Susan, My pcp had to send me to a health and nutrition center to initate my wls. Well this doctor at the nutrition told me I would need to lose at least 50 pounds before surgery. I asked, how can I do that.. and he intruduced me to opti-fast. The shakes are not bad when mixed with diet soda. But I got tired of it and I was hungry and miserable. And it is sooooo expensive. I told my pcp that I just couldn't afford that, and he was shocked that the doctor told me to lose 50 pounds before surgery. So needless to say, I still have my opti-fast supplements here.
