I'm sorry, don't know much about your history, you don't post much on your
profile. I'd want to know how far post op you are. I am almost 4 months
and hardly qualified to answer but I know most people say they get their
appetite back with a vengence about 6 months or so, and the work gets a bit
harder from there. Hang in there... what about your protien, water and
carbs?

Hi, You didn't mention how far post op you are now but, I am almost 7 mths
post op now and my hunger has came back quite a bit. I try to eat at least
3 meals and 2 snacks a day and tryto stay at 1000-1200 calories a day too
but sometimes it is hard to count calories so I don't always do that.
Anyway, I feel like that some days I can eat way too much in a day, but
still not alot at one time though if it is solid foods but other foods I
can eat alot at once so I just try to pace myself and be careful. Then some
days I don't eat hardly much and have to remind myself to eat. It is really
weird but I do try to eat the 3 meals and 2 snacks a day even if those
days I am not to hungry I force myself to do so, so I can stay at the same
pace daily! But I can say that every once in awhile it doesn't work out
that way and some days when I am really hungry and want even more I try to
think of something else and drink more cuz I know then it is just head
hunger! So if you are having this problem then just pace yourself and maybe
try what I do it may help for you too! You'll get thru this, it might be
hard but yuo can do it! As for the bubbling sensation in your pouch I am
not forsure what that could be it might just be your tummy rumbling or gas
which then you might need some gasx for that or if you are feeling any kind
of pain at all then I would call your surgeon to get that checked out, or
if you feel like that you are able to eat like you did before having this
surgery, then definitely call your surgeon and have them check out to see
if you have a staple line disruption or a large stoma cuz things like that
unfortunatly can happen. Otherwise if it is anything else like I mentioned
then you'll be okay cuz all of us go thru this at one time or another, and
head hunger can be a bi--- , just try to do something different when that
happens, otherwise if you are only eating 4-5 small meals a day then you
are okay just watch what you eat! Good Luck to You!

How cool, you started your new healthy life the day before Christmas Eve.
What a wonderful present! I am slightly less further out than you, surgery
Feb 3rd. I'm wondering if the bubbling sensation has anything to do with
eating too fast. I know when I eat too fast, which I still tend to do,
after a few bites I have to stop and sit for like 5+ minutes till some of
the food moves down. Before I am ready to eat again I get really bad
belching and gurgling. Once that settle down then I can eat again.

You do not indicate what or how much you are eating so it's hard
to help much. I'm eating 4-6 ounces per meal of about 65-95% protein.
Most days I hit 65-90 grams of protein from food only. I do not use any
protein drinks. My calorie intake varies from about 650-1000. I can't say
I am ever hungry between meals. That said it also doesn't mean that I
don't have a snack once in a while even though I'm not truly hungry. some
habits die real hard. I just try to keep it in line and not too often. At
least it's always something that is good for me.

You are at the stage where your WL is likely to slow way down.
The miracle is not over unless you allow it to be. Make sure you are not
eating a lot of carbs and push that protein and water. These will keep
your body burning fat. So far I have been able to have continuous weight
loss with the only "break" for about 10 days. But then the next
time I weighed I was down 7 lbs. I'll take it anyway I can get it! What
are you doing for exercise and how often? If you want to kickstart the
weight loss again go back to square one - liquids on up. Reprogram your
body. This will kick you back into ketosis and burn you some fat. I would
also make sure I talked to the surgeon before doing this. Are you
transected? Give us more info on what and quantity you are eating and
we'll be able to help more.

I had surgery the same day you did! I have bubbling too and my tummy is
very hard to touch after I eat ---maybe too much or its gas. I platued
this month only losing maybe 2 - 3 lbs, however I have dropped another size
so I am losing inches
hang in there!

You know many of us have the surgery so we don't have to DIET per sa. I
don't count my calories. I just eat whatever I want but in essence, can't
eat a lot. I try not to eat fatty fried foods and stay low on carbs. It
works for me. I eat every two hours. Since I really don't drink a protien
shake I eat like a chili at lunch and then my dinner whatever. Its best to
eat every two hours whatever it is you may be eating. It keeps your
metabolism functing properly. I exerice religously so maybe that is why I
can get away with what I eat. Works for me and that is all that matter. I
notice that when I eat too fast and dont chew right I can only eat just a
tiny bit. But if I chew and eat slower I can eat a little more. That used
to worry me but its best to eat more than not get enough of what it is you
need. What foods are you eating? I notice that when I eat foods high
protien I dont get hungry often. But I force myself to eat when i'm not
hungry b/c PROTIEN is the key to your weight loss and you need to EAT to
LOSE....its a contradition that we are all afraid of but it has to be done.
Good luck

I used to get "bubbles" when I ate. It felt like the food was
moving around making room. When I got "bubbles" I felt like I
had to burp too. I knew that if I ate any more after I got the bubbles I
would throw up. I don't get the bubbles any more, but I sure wish I still
did. It was a great learning tool. Don't look at the bubbles as a bad
thing, your body is trying to tell you not to eat anymore because there's
no room. Good Luck to you!
