Question:
Boston area evening or weekend support group?
Does anyone know of a Boston or Metro-West evening or weekend support group? I live in Wellesley and only know of one support group but it meets during working hours and I can't attend. I'd be grateful for a lead! Thanks! — Laura B. (posted on August 13, 2003)

Brigham & Women's has their own support group. They should have more
information at Robinson's office, or ask the nutritionist Natalie Eagan.

Thanks, Martha. Unfortunately, THAT'S the one I can't attend! They hold it
on Tuesday afternoons. I'm afraid I need something at night or on the
weekends.

I live in NH but have the same problem...my support group meeting for my
surgeon are in the middle of the day. I've started attending the meetings
at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Malden MA. The next one is Aug 20 at
6:30, I believe. The surgeon for this particular group is Dr. Randall.

Saints Memorial in Lowell has support group meetings at 6pm every first and
third Tuesday of the month. You can call Christine Labrecque at
978-458-1411 x8220 for more info. Also, I know that there's a meeting the
first Monday evening of every month at the fire station in Franklin. If
you're interested in that, let me know and I can try to find out what time
and which fire station. Good Luck!

Mass General also has an open evening support group, I believe, the first
Monday of every month. You can call the MGH Weight Center @ 617-726-4400.
They should be able to answer any questions you might have.
