Question:
what could this pain in my stomach be?

I have been hurting (my stomach) really bad for 24 hours now. It feels like gas, but I haven't been able to release anything. Is there anything I can take to get rid of this feeling? It really hurts and I don't know what to do to get rid of it. I don't have a gallbladder or appendix, so I know it's not that. I feel like I need to (excuse this) break wind but can't. Call your doctor. Meanwhile take Gas-X. It really helps.

Original poster here - I forgot to mention I will be 10 months out on the 14th (down 66lbs - 30 to go) and haven't been sick a day since my surgery.

Could it be a bowel obstruction???

Could be several thing like a stricture or something blocking your stoma.

I am 2 years out from open RNY and developed an ulceration from Vioxx. In turn it caused 3 strictures. I let the pain go way to long before contacting my doctor...so CALL YOUR DOCTOR and be safe. If it is something stuck or a stricture, it is very easy to resolve. Take Care and be well.

Oh, just wanted to add that until this time I have never had any complications or been sick from my surgery.

it could be kidney stones. my husband just complained about this two days ago. he kept on saying that it was just gas pains. i made him go to the er after talking to his doc. he was passing the stones from his kidneys to his bladder. do you have any back pain? you should really call your doctor.toni
