i had arm surgery in may 2003 and my scar goes from under arm to elbow.
there was not alot of pain. most of your arm will be numb, as alot of it
still is. it is more like discomfort when you move. keeping still is the
key to the best recovery and scar. you will also probably get pain meds,
you may need x-lax if you do. best of luck, julie

I had my arms done and the pain was minimal. More numb than anything. I
now go sleeveless and love my arms. No more batwings!
However, I had a breast augmentation (implants) and a lift at the same time
and it was pretty uncomfortable.
Several months later I had some lipo and THAT hurt like HELL. Lots of
swelling and very sore for at least 6-8 weeks.
Then I had my final PS 8 weeks ago- an extended TT and thigh lift. That
wasn't bad AT ALL. Again, more of a burning sensation than anything.
Hope this helps...
Good luck,
Diane

I had an extended TT, extended brachioplasty (arms) and breastlift done on
March 31, 2003. I had minimal pain with the arms and a mild complication of
fluid build up at the elbows which the Dr. drained. Didn't hurt. The scar
is from the elbow inside the arm thru the armpit and zigzags down the sides
to the bottom of the breast where the breast scar meets it. It does have a
feeling of 'tightness' at first but not bad. I don't have any numbness in
the arms so I guess thats different case by case. I had NO pain in the
breastlift but I also didn't get implants. I also had minimal pain in the
TT cause I didn't get alot of muscle tightening done since I never had
kids.

I had my panniculectomy (anchor incision) and brachioplasty (armlift) done
almost two years ago, and I thought that the whole experience was the least
painful surgery I had ever had (including my lap RNY). When I woke up from
my surgery, the arms were absolutely painless and I had to ask if the
surgeon had forgotten to do them :-) My armlift incisions are from elbow
to armpit and now are just fine white lines. I do have numbness all along
the incision lines, but nowhere else. Some superficial nerves along the
underside of the arm are "sacrificed" with this surgery, but I
have never given that a second thought. A little numbness is certainly
worth giving up those terrible batwings! Just remember that everyone's
surgical experience differs from patient to patient...I wish you the same
great experience that I had :-)

Just had my arm lift 3 weeks ago.....no pain whatsoever as long as I took
my Vicodin every 4 hours....just some tightness which wasn't painful. I
had breast implants at the same time and that was relatively painless
too...just occasional sharp pains.
