Question:
I can't seem to keep anything down. What do I do
I just had a revision 2 weeks ago and I seem to be having trouble keeping anything down in the past few days. I got sick this afternoon and it was the food that I ate for breakfast. It didn't even look as if it had been digested. Does anyone have this same problem. What should I do? — Tracy K. (posted on July 20, 2003)

A lot of us are going through the vomiting stage. Call your doctor ASAP.
You may need to be scoped (EGD). Hope you feel better soon and good luck
on your revision.

Tracy, call your surgeon and let him know what is going on right away. I
had the same problem after my lap rny and it turned out that I had a
blocked intestine and had to be opened to have it fixed. This could be a
very serious problem if the blockage breaks through your intestine...life
threatening. Check it out immediately!

I had the same problem that you are describing. It turned out that my
stomach had scar tissue that was blocking the exit. The sedated me and put
a scope down my throat and inflated a tiny balloon to stretch the opening
back to a regular size. I had a soar throat for a day and my stomach
burned for a few hours. But I felt so much better after I quit throwing
up! Now I can eat without throwing up, as long as I remember to chew well!
Call the doctor and tell him the problem. They should take care of it
right away. Good luck!

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your help. I did have a scope today and they were able to
stretch my opening. So far no vomiting.
By the way for the person asking about the revision. In my case (I am not
sure this is the same for everyone). They went in and shortened my
intenstines. If you want more details please e-amil me at [email protected].
