Question:
Have you had a 2nd WLS (Revision)?
I am 2 years out of an open RNY and have been gaining ny weight back. Strongly considering doing it again and would like to hear from others who have gone through the same thing. — Barry R. (posted on April 26, 2003)

I had vertical banding done in 1984, a revision to a proximal RNY in 2000
and in Feb. 2003 was revised to a distal. Some of the reasons due to
weight gain and others anatomical. If you would like to discus details
feel free to e-mail me directly at [email protected] I would be glad
to talk about both our experieinces.

Barry, I had to be revised to transected pouch after 11 mos post op from
orignal non transected rny. I lost an additional 60 lbs after that and
have about 30 to go to get to my goal. Are you transected? If not, you
could have staple line disruption and would need to be transected. Read my
profiles part one (first surgery) and part two (second surgery) and if I
can answer any questions, please e mail me. Do you eat a lot more than you
used to? Do you have any heartburn? Have you had an upper GI to see if
there is a disruption?

Hi Barry,
I had the VBG in 92 and just had the revision to RNY on Valentines Day.
May I ask how you are regaining the weight. Is it food choices? You can
read my profile or email me with any questions. I can honestly say that I
do not regret the revision however my weight loss is a little slower now.
