I had my surgery with Dr. Aguirre on 1/17/03. He is a great doctor in my
opinion. The traveling was fine. I flew to San Diego took a taxi to the
border and walked over the border and then took the ABC bus to Ensenada
(about an hour bus ride). After getting out of the hospital I stayed at
the Best Western El Cid hotel which is in a good location, inexpensive ($50
or less per night) and the rooms have refrigerators. It's not the four
seasons but has a pool and is in walking distance of the shops, etc. You
don't need a passport but if you don't have one you need a drivers license
and birth certificate. Dr. Aguirre and his wife ended up driving me from
Ensenada to the airport in San Diego the day I left (over an hour drive).
He is great! I spent about $300 on airfare, $250 on hotel and about $300
shopping!
Good luck! Feel free to e-mail me if you have more questions.
