Hi Lois, I'm from Windsor,Ont. What you can do to find ppl in your area is click on 'Find Peers' at the top of this page. Click on 'Click here for members outside the US'. In the 7th column, you will see Canada, spelled exactly like I just spelled it. Click it on and a list of Canadian members comes up grouped by city. Scroll down until you find Ottawa. There are about 40 ppl listed. You can click on any name and read their profile. At the top of each profile is their email address and there you go, your way to contact others in your area :) It's funny that when I first came here to Obesity Help 2 and a half years ago, I searched and found a woman in Ottawa that I emailed with for a bit, she was very helpful. Hi, just to let you know there is a group of us in the Ottawa area. Some of us have had the surgery, and some are just researching it. We meet the first Tuesday of the month at the Civic. We'd love to see you there.

I forgot. It's from six to eight pm. It on the first floor near the main entrance. It's a large room across the hall from the Fisher room (I can't remember what this room's name is.).

I am in the Thunder Bay area of Ontario and am starting to research surgery, to see if it is something that may benifit me. I have tons of questions mostly concerning cost and insurance covarage. I would love to talk to any of you who have had or are going to have the surgery.
