Question:
I'am Self Paying, I would like to know if there's anyone who knows if
there's any way to get a discount for paying cash up front? I'am in Pensacola, Florida. Or a doctor close by I can have a RYN-Lap that does offer a lower price for Self-Pay? Any info on this would be of the most help!!! — latrishanickle (posted on February 19, 2003)

My surgeon has put together a whole package for self-pays. It has reduced
prices for all components involved - hospital, surgeon, internist to follow
you in hospital, dietician, anestheiologist. The payments are all made
ahead of time to the various entities but they have all agreed to accept
that payment. However, I do not know if there is a limit on the number of
days included etc. If there is, I would imagine it's 4 days as usually
that's the longest anyone stays that doesn't have complications.
<p>Approach the hospital and other entities and ask if there is a
cash pay discount. No reason there shouldn't be.

Hi I am in Gulfport, MS and my surgeon was in Biloxi. Not sure if she
takes self pays, but here is the number you can call and see 228-388-0707
ask for Brittani. She can tell anything and everything you need to know.
BTW Dr. Rose is Great!! Also check with Univ. of South Alabama, they have
a WLS over there too in Mobile. Good Luck and if you have any other
questions, email me at [email protected].

I paid $26,000 for my lap rny. I don't know what the doc charges the
insurance company. I had mine done my Dr. Marema in Ft. Lauderdale. I
feel like I really got great care and education. Seems like many surgeons
do the operation but don't bother with educating their patients or are
concerned with their aftercare. I just don't understand that. Best of
luck
