what is the difference between an open RNY, duodenal switch and all of the other diff

i see different types of surgeries listed on your lists such as open RNY, duodenal switch,and i think one or two others, what is the diffrence between these? and is one more serious than the others?    — patricia M. (posted on October 17, 2002)

There are lots of differnces and absorption issues between these procedures. Might I suggest more homework. Search the web under Bariatric procedures. You will find tons of info to help you make a decision. Good Luck, Keniki
