Question:
would everyone please post their TYPE of surgery?
Most all posting of questions and answers pertain to the RNY surgery. I am having the Duodenal Switch (DS) surgery. Since Post Op requirements for food, types of vitamins (RNY require water soluable vits and DS require fat soluable vits) vary, could everyone please post which type of surgery they had or are having so we can use the information accordingly? Another idea would be to have seperate posting boards for each type of surgery. I need info on Vitamins, calcium, things to watch out for, and just more general info on DS Post Op lifestyle. Hey Bev, I know what you mean. I try to post my surgery type when I ask a
question, and when I answer a question if they did not post their type, I
sometimes go to their profile to see what type it is. But honeslty,
sometimes I do not answer because I do not have the time to check profiles
al the time. I have asked before that we post surgery types and how long
out. I think this helps because then you know if the person answering you
has the same scenerio as yourself. I wonder if the moderator or someone
behing the scene can help. I know they got rid of the Anonymous posting
selection, so maybe they could make it manditory to post surgery type and
time out.....
If no-one of that nature responds here, I will try to contact them and see
if it is possible.

I had the DS 6/5/02. You should check out the duodenalswitch Yahoo Group
and www.duodenalswitch.com which has a forum.

I had a straight BPD no DS on June 3, 2002. I always feel the need to
preface my answers about food with "I had a BPD and not an RNY".
Surgery is great and folks will choose the procedure they think is best for
them. But I agree, we're 'oddities' in a RNY world.. *G* I've always
thought a seperate posting area for each procedure would be great, and
leave the main board because despite surgeries, we share many similar
issues. My surgery is very much like the DS so I'm always looking for
tips from other folks. Just to share, my multivitamin is the fat soluable
ADEK, a chewable that I take twice a day. I hope this helps you.
