Are you able to get your non-milk protein shakes down? (Milk generates
more acid). Are they givign you Prilosec or Prevacid (or somethign in that
famimly) & some carrafate? If so, it should clear in a day or 3. Any
relief yet?

Hi Nichole: I had the same problem at 5 weeks post op..I had horrible
inflamation at the opening of my new pouch and I also needed to have my
stoma stretched. I went into the hospital for a few days before the actual
stretching so that I could get iv's to get re-hydrated and vits by iv but
having my stoma stretched was the best thing that ever happened to
me....Literally, 2 hours after the procedure, I was eating tuna and holding
it down just fine...I have not had 1 problem since....11 mos post op and
down #136.....I also went on Prevacid for 6 mos to just insure that I got
no irritation in or around my pouch anymore...The Prevacid is a god
send....Voice your worries and concerns with your dr....Communication is a
must at this point between you and your dr....
