Question:
The Scoop on Dr. Lautz @ Beth Israel Hospital?

Hello All... I am having my surgery (lap rny) on Sept. 6th, and it seems like the summer is flying by! I was wondering if any of ya'll have information on Dr. Lautz @ Beth Israel Hospital (Boston, MA), or information on the hospital itself. I am growing more and more nervous and some information on the doctor and/or the facility would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your help!    — JM B. (posted on July 1, 2002)

I don't know the Doctor, but have only wonderful things to say about the Hospital. All 3 of my children were born there and I received great care. I live in the Boston area and the BI would be my first choice over all others. Good Luck!

I myself had my surgery at Brigham & Women's, but my mother had a different surgery at Beth Israel and I could not say enough nice things about the staff, the facilities and her treatment! I have heard Dr. Lautz is a good doctor, however I don't have any firsthand knowledge of him. Good luck with your surgery!

I don't know Dr. Lautz at all, but I did have my surgery performed by Dr. Mun at Beth Israel. I cannot say enough great things about the staff there. Not only are the pre-operative people (nutritionist, nurses, psychiatrists) wonderful, but the nurses at BI/D are wonderful at helping care for people recuperating from WLS. It is a wonderful medical center and I had a wonderful experience. Please feel free to email me if I can help any other way!! :) Maureen
