Question:
When does the soreness go away?

I had surgery 6 days ago. And I have no pain but I am very sore mostly in my belly button area will walking more get rid of this soreness or does it go away as I began to heal more??    — Samitra D J. (posted on June 30, 2002)

Hi, I had the same thing. I had no pain except to the side of my belly button. My surgeon said it's muscle pain, which actually makes sence. I had open RNY on May 9. The pain went away slowly but got better each day. Hope this helps.

hi. I'm glad you have no pain. the soreness can be quite uncomfortable though! I am 4 weeks post-op and still have some soreness, but nothing like it was! It gets better everyday, just like the previous poster said. Walking can help some, but the healing process will take time and do wonders! Just be patient and rest some, but do walk as well! goodluck to you! :)
