How do i get started and what do i need to do to get accepted for my medicaid to appr

I just want to know how to get started and how to get medicaid to approve me me bm is 50.2 and i am 5'4 and 300 lbs just need to know how to get started and where to go from here    — babytuck4 (posted on May 5, 2002)

Medicaid is a Government Insurance, but each state handles it there own way. I'm in Ohio, my first step was finding a Surgeon that would take Medicaid, then getting my PCP to send the referral to him. The surgeon sent me a checklist of things to do and documents he wants, then he submits to the insurance.

Vickie is right. Medicaid rules and procedures vary from state to state. Probably the best thing to do is to call whatever department handles Medicaid in your state and ask them.

it does vary from state to state and in ky u have to have a medical condition that will be helped only by having the surgery then have ur pcp refer u to the surgeon u find that takes it.
