Question:
Anyone have problems having lap gall bladder surgery after open RNY?

I am 1 year post-op, open RNY. It looks like my gall bladder is going to have to come out. Anyone have any problems having lap surgery because of scar tissue or adhesions? Does having RNY create any issues for a general surgeon to do the gall bladder surgery? (My bariatric surgeon no longer is in practice)    — Randy L. (posted on April 13, 2002)

Hi there, I had a consult with a different surgeon for my gallbladder removal a couple of weeks ago. He informed me that he will attempt to go through my bellybutton first. I had my open RNY in Dec. 01. So I guess I will be waking up to a surprise or a new scar in the near future. Good Luck!!
