If your BC/BS is like mine--get ready for the waiting game--I have had
bc/bs for 26 years--I turned in all paperwork on Nov. 19,2001 and was
denied on March 15, 2002---many phone calls and refiling paperwork--good
luck--hopefully you will have better luck than I have

You have nothing to worry about. I got BCBS Carefirst (Washington, DC) on
Feb. 1, 2002, had my first appointment with my PCP on Feb. 7 (where I got
my referral to the surgeon), went to see the surgeon on Feb. 8, and
received my approval today! God bless! (It took so long because they were
backlogged and never received the first fax, a couple of weeks ago, from my
surgeon's office.)

My insurance (HMO) started on January 1st of this year and I went to the
surgeon on the 7th and the paperwork was turned in on the 10th and I was
called on January 25th with an approval and surgery date. Good Luck

As soon as you receive your card, go. In fact, make the appointment now.
DON'T WAIT!
