Mike, I\'m only 6 weeks out so I don\'t know if your body adjusts, but I\'m now a proud owner of an electric blanket for my bed, an electric blanket for my couch and a space heater for under the desk at work! I have also re-learned the fine art of wearing layers of clothing! :)

I\'ve been hot all my life. I can sweat in winter! (Open RNY on May 8th). But for the last 2 months (or a tad less) I am cold almost all the time. This is really strange. Even my hands are cold to the touch (although they don\'t feel cold). But at least the sweat is\'nt pouring off me all the time. ;) I don\'t know if it will last for us. I suspect we\'ll ether get use to it or it will pass when we are down to whatever weight we will end up at.

Man can I relate!!!! I am 4 months post, down 69 pounds and freezing my bagettes off!!! I can only hope that it eventually evens out... if not, at least during the summer I will feel better not sweating profusily like I used to before! LOL!!!

I\'m sorry to have to tell you this Mike, but I\'m 21 months post-op and I don\'t think I\'ve been warm since the surgery. My hands always feel like ice, my nailbeds are blue, my nose is frigid and the area around the thermostat in our house is known as the \"war-zone\". I used to hold out the hope that this was just a phase, but it appears to now be the norm. As uncomfortable as this perpetual cold is, it still is infinitely better than the excess heat and perspiration that I constantly endured before my 160 lb. weight loss. This has been a small trade-off for the miracle of \"life\" that this surgery has given me. Bundle up....best wishes!

Today is my 5th month anniversary of my open RNY. The windows are open and it\'s about 78 degress outside. I am in the house freezing! I live in Florida and wear a sweater most everywhere. I hardly ever use the AC in the car anymore. Yes, I to a Mrs. Freeze. Before surgery I couldn\'t get cool enough. I have come to realize I will be wearing much warmer clothes from now on. It\'s a tiny price to pay. Take Care!

Its funny around here. After my surgery and 107 pound loss Jen was sweating while I was freezing. Now Jen a post op is a ice cube too. I bought extra blankets today. In the summer being cooler will be GREAT but right now its the pits!

I must have adjusted. Last year at this time, I was freezing. I don\'t feel like this year it is as bad. However, as I think about it, I do have a lot of flannel shirts and am wearing 2 layers now, so maybe I have compensated for it good enough not to be cold anymore:)

I\'m a little over 3 months post-op. I live in St. Pete, FL (where it\'s only cold about 2 weeks out of the year!) and I\'m freezing all the time. I LOVE IT! I\'d much rather freeze and cover up with a cute sweater, than sweat like a hog!

Ditto - Ditto, I am 4 weeks post and the biggest problem I\'ve had is keeping warm. I watch T.V. in a sleeping bag and start to shiver if I get out. This started my second day from surgery and I was costantly calling the nurses thinking I was getting infected, but my internal temperature was normal while my teeth were literaly chattering! Oh well, Spring is just 90 days away...Greg

Just had to add my two cents to this one... Just last night my friend Melissa (also had wls) and I were together discusing this same thing. We are both freezing all the time. Even my nose is cold every minute of the day. I always used to sweat, it was a major embarrassment for me. I would be hot in 30 degree weather. My husband can\'t get over it, I even sleep in layers now! The other night he had to cover me in two extra blankets as I could not get warm. When we built our house, I insisted that we put in central air conditioning. At least this summer we will save some money on the gas bill! Oh well, I guess we will all have to get used to this! Merry Christmas everyone...

I have found that whether I am freezing or not depends on my blood pressure. Since surgery, it has been more normal, and I am cold all of the time. Before surgery, it was high & I was always sweating like a pig. Last week my BP went up & I was not cold anymore. Now it is back down, and I am freezing. Most post-ops blood pressure drops, which is a goal & is normal. We are just not used to it. This is what \"normal\" people feel like. I don\'t mind it, knowing that my BP is good. I just bundle up.

I\'m beginning to think that my body temp will never return to normal. I lost 140lbs. also and I\'ve suffered through three winters. I even freeze in air conditioning and on coolish summer days. My surgeon said that it has something to do with lose a lot of body fat within a short period of time. Three years ago he waid that my body should return to normal by my third post-op winter. Well, that would be this winter! I\'m no better this winter.

This is my second post-op winter & I\'m not as cold as I was last year, but maybe that\'s cause I have learned to cope with it better! I echo the first comment, I am now a proud owner of an electric heater & a space heater UNDER my desk. I have several heavy & warm shirts I wear at work & a blanket on my chair. I can still do things like participate in winter sports; I have just learned the secrets of layering clothes for optimum warmth. I didn\'t know this before, cause like the others I was previously hot & sweaty all the time- rarely wore heavy coats even in winter. I agree, this is preferable. Ever heard that saying, \"you don\'t sweat much--for a fat girl!\" YUK! no more!

Oh my, here I am living in Arizona and this past summer was over 110 and I was sitting outside by the pool freezing. not once did I sweat this whole summer, I kept thinking that something is wrong with me. I am freezing sitting here at the computer and my heat is on 74 and its 56 outside. Its been almost 2 years come Jan since my surgery. My husband yells at me for putting up the heat says I am burning him outta the house, before I would freeze everyone out. They are used to the temp being 65 in the house. In a way its funny, told my husband I am ready to move to a state that is hot all year round. Hawaii sounds nice, like near that valcano that is still flowing. Just need to get firepoof clothes, and a house. Trying to stay warm Terri
