Question:
Can anyone tell me their experience good or bad with Keystone East HMO?
I'm so worried about being turned down, anyone ever turned down from them, does anyone know their policies. I can't get much answered when I call. Thanks — [Anonymous] (posted on December 19, 2001)

If your surgeon is listed here, or another local surgeon is read the docs
profile, each one includes insurance approval info. Click on my name,
scroll to the bottom click on my doc, and check his insurance approval
area. I think your fine, good luck.

I don't know if my insurance is the same as yours, but I have Keystone Blue
and it covered everything with no questions asked. My surgeons office said
they would submit everything to the insurance and that it would take about
6 weeks to get an answer, but since I had complications come up before they
could submit it, they had to submit it earlier than anticipated and get an
answer ASAP... and they did. Of course I had some co-morbidities that were
kinds of pressing at the time and had to be taken care of sooner than we
had expected (a ventral hernia and an esophogeal hernia), and I don't know
if those helped speed things along with the insurance or not, but all I
know is I didn't have any problems at all getting an approval. Once
submitted, it only took 5 days to get an answer. Good luck!!!
