Question:
Has anyone been able to take regular ADULT vitamins instead of childrens chewables

or liquid? I don't do chewable vitamins or meds very well and the liquid made me sick. Is it possible to take a regular multi-vitamin and cut if in half? My Dr hasn't instructed me on what I should be taking yet, that will be covered in my next visit. Thanks for the help.    — Teresa R. (posted on November 20, 2000)

I switched over from Flintstones chewables to regular adult Centrums at about 3 months post op. I am now using a generic multi vitamin with the same ingredients as Centrum, but at about half the cost. I don't have any problems with them, but have learned not to try to take two at once. Bad idea..... I am seven months post op & 130# lost.

My surgeon tells his RNY patients to take Flintstones Chewables for the 1st 3 weeks, then they may take any vitamin they wish (uncrushed/uncut) after that. I take Centrum with no problems.

I take the generic One a Day vitamin. They are a lot smaller than the big horse pills like Centrum. I'm 5 weeks post op and cannot do the chewables/liquids either.

Yes, I take adult vitamins. I use the size of an M&M as a guide. Anything bigger I have to cut up.

My surgeon recommended Physician's ProCare Adult Chewable Multivitamin with Iron. 888-807-7622. I have taken one a day religiously since surgery. Nearly 7 months post-op, down 110 lbs, and all my labs were perfect. Good luck.

HELLO Oral absorption is the prefered method of intake according to the Physicians' Desk Reference. With oral absorption, you receive higher blood concentration faster, with more efficiency than with tablets. KareMor sprays are pure, no waxes, fillers or unwanted binders. As seen at the ASBS meetings www.credden.mybsns.com Best Regards James
