You can also go to the Find a Doc link at the top of the page, choose your state, and click on Comments about your surgeon. You'll see a link to checking out your surgeon's standing with the state medical board.

I think that all state medical associations make available to the public information about any lawsuits or repremands against physicians and surgeons. Perhaps the state medical association even has a website. I'm not clear on this, perhaps someone else has information??
